Another fantastic sunny day down at Openwaterswim.co.uk, a perfect setting for Aquathlon Race 2.

The men's race saw our 2009 series champion Deon Coetzee and Sigma Sport athlete Mark Yeoman battling it out for the first place. It was Deon who lead from the gun to exit the 750m swim first closely followed by Yeoman, Wallace and Alexander. Deon was first through transition and clocked a solid 5km run time to take the overall win in a seasons best of 27:49.

 The remaining two places on the podium were still up for grabs and it was the former series champion David Chapman and Mark Yeoman who fought it out for 2nd Place. Mark, in his debut race finished second overall in 28.07 with David only 2 seconds behind taking third.

The women's race saw series leader Kate Robson (BRAT) breaking the women's course record in a fantastic 29.58, 30 seconds faster than her previous time, closely followed by Tamsin Neale (Eton Tri Club) also with a personal best of 30.30, 48 seconds faster than in race 1. Debut athlete Caroline Coates took third place.
