The PoolMateHR - Automatic lap counting watch with heart rate sensor
Created On: 13 May 2013
Swimovate, developers of automatic lap counting watches for swimmers have launched the PoolMateHR, the most advanced swimming computer yet. The PoolMateHR offers swimmers comprehensive details of the effectiveness of their workout, including number of laps swum, distance, speed, efficiency index, and the number of calories burned, and now heart rate data. Just press start and swim and the PoolMateHR will do the rest.
Most heart rate monitors don't work under water. The PoolMateHR has been specially designed for swimmers so it will transmit in the pool. Swimmers can view heart rate during their swim and download all the information afterwards for further analysis. The vibrating alarm gives swimmers feedback by gently shaking the wrist after a set number of laps or time interval so you don't even need to look at the screen to track progress.
Lisa Irlam, CEO of Swimovate said: "After listening to feedback from our customers we have developed the ultimate swimmers training tool. Athletes of all levels are used to training by heart rate but there were very few solutions available for swimmers. We are pleased to launch the first swim-specific heart rate monitor. Combined with our lap and stroke counting technology it gives the swimmer all the information they need about their swim and the vibrating alarm is a really great feature to give you feedback as you go."
The PoolMateHR combines a sapphire crystal glass face with a ceramic bezel to make a tough, scratch resistant but stylish watch. Fully downloadable and rechargeable it comes with a chest belt for heart rate sensing, USB download and charging pod, cable and software (Mac and PC). Swimovate's software provides lap by lap analysis of every session including laps, strokes, distance, speed, calories, stroke rate, stroke length, efficiency, and continuous heart rate data. It can be used out of the pool too as a standard heart rate monitor or sports watch.
